Planning walks around Eisenbach
Staying in Eisenbach means not every outing needs a drive to Titisee. The municipality highlights its forests and valleys and describes Höchst as a viewpoint. This is a planning guide based on official sources, not a route we have independently surveyed.
Start with Höchst and the Panoramaweg
Hochschwarzwald tourism lists the loop tour “Winter hiking trail Höchst & Panoramaweg Eisenbach”. Open the official route linked below before setting out and check its start point, map, distance, elevation profile and notices. Do not substitute details from similarly named towns or other panorama trails.
Any walk from the apartment at Waldstr. 13 to the official trailhead is additional to the listed tour. The municipality describes Alpine views from Höchst, but the view depends on weather and visibility.
Choose a route for your group
Decide how long everyone wants to be out before choosing distance, ascent and breaks. For a short outing, a manageable out-and-back walk on open paths can be easier to plan than committing to a full circuit.
A listed winter walk is not a guarantee of wheelchair access, pushchair suitability or ice-free surfaces. Check current route information for your needs before committing. Stay on marked paths and respect pasture restrictions and forestry work.
Plan differently in winter
Check the weather, daylight and current trail status. Bring footwear with suitable grip, weather protection, water and an offline map. Turn back in ice, storms or uncertain navigation instead of trying to finish a circuit at any cost.
Cross-country ski tracks and walking paths are not interchangeable. Follow local signs and do not walk along prepared ski tracks. Check any refreshment stops and opening hours separately, and carry food rather than depending on an unconfirmed opening.
Arrange your start and return
If you choose a walk involving a bus, check the return trip for the actual day of the week first. The KONUS card included in our tourist tax covers participating local transport within its area, not mountain railways or long-distance trains. Having the card does not mean a bus serves your chosen trailhead.
Return to a private 52 m² guest suite in Eisenbach for 2–4 guests, with a kitchen, shower and toilet, and free parking. Agree exact sleeping arrangements and arrival times with Daniel before booking.
